Hatsune Miku from the all famous Vocaloid

This is a pixel work I did way back on 2010. Yes, It’s quite old (:

It’s actually been a long time since I did some pixel art.

If I have the time, I might do it again for practice and for fun <3

Photoshop Tutorial: From Young to Old

Want to learn how I edited this photo? Here’s a step by step!
Note: Click on the images for a full-view.

1. Capture or open a photo of yourself facing front. Now, search for an image of an old person that is also facing front. Open both of these images in Photoshop.

2. Let’s start with the old person’s photo. Use the Lasso Tool and change the Feather value to 1. Start drawing around the old person’s face to select it.

3. Once you have the face selected, drag the selection to the young person’s photo. Let’s rename the new layer to Old Woman and change its opacity to 75%. Place the old person’s face directly on top of the young person.

4. Go to Edit > Transform > Warp and start adjusting the anchor points so that the old person’s face can match the young one. For a more accurate result, you can align the old person’s eyes and lips to the young one. Press Enter on your keyboard when you are finally satisfied. Now for the fun part; go to the layer’s panel and change it from Normal to Overlay.

5. Click Add Layer Mask on the bottom section of the Layers Panel. Notice the change in the Old Woman layer? A white thumbnail appeared beside it. Change your foreground color to Black and choose the Paintbrush Tool. Click on the white thumbnail that appeared beside the Old Woman layer and zoom in on your image. Start painting over the areas you don’t need. In my case, I painted over the lips, eyes, and outline of the face.

And voila, you’re done! To top it all off, you can change the hair and eyebrow color to gray or white. I do recommend experimenting with the different tools and effects of Photoshop (: That way, you can understand how and when they can be used best. Have fun in Photoshop!

DVD Poster and Photoshop Edits

Make your own DVD Poster – Part 1 of our midterm project.

The tools and effects I used was a Soft-brushed Eraser, Desaturate, Levels, Color Balance, Type Tool, and Brightness and Contrast. Lindsay Lohan’s photo came out on my image search, and it seemed perfect for my poster (: I put some devilish markings on the girl’s face for a touch of horror.

Removing Wrinkles (old to young) – Part 2 of our midterm project.

Wrinkles can make a person appear older. If you want to remove face blemishes in photos, you can use the Patch Tool and Healing Brush Tool. You should do the editing on a duplicated image. That way, when you’re done, you can lower the opacity of the edited image to achieve a more realistic outcome. Have fun in Photoshop!

Update: College

Howdy! It’s been a long time since I last updated my blog, tsk tsk (:

I’ve been doing well with college. I actually couldn’t believe that in three months, my life as a first year college student will be over. Time sure flies, doesn’t it? So far, my college experience is really good. It’s bewildering at first, but you’ll get the hang of things later on. The people here in school is pretty interesting; you can actually categorize them like you see in movies! During break time, I enjoy seeing other students play different games on their laptops. You have people playing MMORPG, Fantasy, Shooting and many more! It just amuses me.

Most of the time, I’d sit there and have random conversations with my amigos and amigas. Sounds fun, right? I’m just enjoying my college life. I’m taking it easy right now, but I know how hard it will slowly become in the future. I’m preparing myself spiritually, physically, and mentally for what’s ahead. It’s going to be a rough path, so bring it on!
