Who Needs Anatomy

Anatomy is a significant factor in drawing. Unless you’re fine with your character looking awkward, you need to understand the parts of the human body. I had a hard time with it, but I’m slowly improving. Let’s just do our best to improve and never give up!

PS: This drawing should not be taken seriously :D

Midterms Result

We have finished our midterm exam on all subjects except for PE. We are scheduled to do our PE midterm this Friday, which I personally think is nothing complex. Only one subject has released the midterm results, I got a 99% grade on my exam — Yahoo! At least my hard work paid off. I almost cried when I saw my grade. Now, I am hoping that I receive a grade as high in my other subjects, especially in Communication Arts. It has been a long time since I posted anything on my blog — How I missed posting new stuff for all of you to read. In the near future, I will do my best to upload new sets of artwork. Thank you for reading!

Midterms in 2 Weeks

2 more weeks and It’s finally midterms. Time flies when you’re having fun! I’m quite nervous about it — I have no idea on how my new teachers do exams. The only midterm exam I know of is Physical Education. The whole class will be doing aerobics, which is surprisingly fun. Midterms also mean projects and more reports. I have 2 midterm projects ongoing and a few more reports. I’m really tired, but I need to work hard for a high grade. Actually, many things happened today, but I won’t go into details. They’re both really good and really bad events.

Update ends here. I need progress on our projects.

Group Reports

I would like to apologize for the lack of artwork submissions — I’ve been super busy with college. Everyday, we get dismissed with homework and group reports. I just finished reporting about Pronouns last Friday with some of my classmates. At first, I thought we didn’t do well because some of us had trouble explaining, but I was really surprised when our prof praised us for the good report. I went home with relief that day, saying “Finally, It’s over.” in my head. I took a good rest on the following days. Unfortunately, my relaxation fell into pieces this morning when I read a post from one of my group-mates about our report tomorrow. I obviously forgot about it thinking it was a different group’s turn to do the reporting. All I had to do anyway was review my part. I already did a summary of it and got it sent weeks ago.

I hope our report turns well tomorrow. I’m still not sure if everyone already knows what to do and what to say. To be honest, I don’t like it when people simply read what is written on the board. Elaborating is very important in reports to help the audience absorb what the speaker is saying. Anyway, we are still on the process of figuring out a fun game. A Question and Answer is the only option we have as of the moment. If we fail to think of a better one, then we have no other choice. Wish us luck!

Work Station: Desk Lamp

My work station isn’t pretty big to be honest. A short paper has longer length than my desk. That’s why, when I draw in a portrait view, I have to rotate my paper 45 degrees just to prevent it from getting crumples. What I really dislike about my work station, is the absence of a desk lamp. Go back to my drawing videos and notice how they’re all low quality. The lighting doesn’t give much justice at all. Desk Lamps can be quite expensive for students like me. I hope I can encourage my family to purchase one so I could make videos in better quality. My use for it is not limited to just that, but also when I am writing essays or other homework. For now, I need to continue dealing with my own shadow on the desk. It’s kind of irritating when it blocks my paper. I wonder where I can purchase cheap ones?

deviantART Premium Membership Expired

My premium membership expired just about a month ago. I was able to purchase one using the deviantART Points I earned from taking art commissions. It paid off at first, but school started and I began being inactive. I felt bad because I wasn’t able to inform my friends and watchers about my long hiatus. We were all piled up with homework and projects, thus preventing me from submitting artworks and journals. To be honest, I still have points sufficient for a 3-month sub. Though I miss designing my journal and page, I still don’t plan on using them because I know they’ll go to waste. I rarely submit anything on my account. Even if I find the time to log-in, I just check my inbox and add my friends’ artworks in my Favorites. Being inactive in deviantART may sound disappointing, but there was an advantage — It definitely made me more focused with my studies.

Since I’m not even active anymore, I may deactivate my account some time in the future. If I do, I will begin posting new artworks and updates here on my site, so please look forward!

Artline Fineliner Pen

I promised myself 4 months ago that I’d purchase a Sakura Pigma Micron Pen. They cost $2 but I can only purchase one online because they’re not sold in my country. Unfortunately, my mom refuses to spend the USD I earned from summer to buy one. Past is past, and I was able to move on with it despite the disappointment. So 3 days ago, me and my classmate were writing notes when I noticed the pen she was using. I asked what brand it was, and she told me that it was an Artline Fineliner Pen. I was attracted by the pen’s neat and beautiful traces of ink. It looked like an ideal pen for drawing. I’ve been searching for good pens to use for my Traditional Art. I want the ones who doesn’t smudge when I color them with my Copic Markers. I tried a lot of brands before, and even if I let the ink dry for an hour or so, they still smudge when I color them with markers. I plan to buy an Artline Pen when I go out in the future. If they don’t smudge with my markers, then thank goodness! If it does, then I’ll just use them for my color pencils and other traditional mediums.
